2025 Regular Session H0401 DETAILS The Sergeant Kitzhaber Medical Cannabis Act legalizes and regulates medical cannabis use in Idaho for patients with qualifying conditions, establishing a verification system, reclassifying cannabis as a Schedule II substance, and ensuring patient protections, with full implementation by January 1, 2026. Amends and adds to existing law to authorize the possession, transportation, and use of cannabis for medical purposes and to provide that marijuana and tetrahydrocannabinols or synthetic equivalents are Schedule II controlled substances.
